WiFi Streaming of Verizon TV. Quality? Limitations?

What Bandwidth/Quality are they Sending?

Now Wireless, prior Ethernet Cable, the same bandwidth/quality? IOW, either the wireless works or it doesn’t, if it works, same quality as former ethernet cable?

Same 5.1 specs (whatever they were/are) to my AVR wired or wireless?

An aside about Wireless Headphones

My Cable TV is now Wireless TV. What must they be doing to audio and video signals to send everything wirelessly?

I now can compare same streamed content (Netflix/Amazon Prime/YouTube) either using Verizon Wireless Router or Sony Smart TV Ethernet Streaming, but the feed is the same FIOS service, so .....................?

I have a crawl space, My former setup was ALL Hard Wired Ethernet, they UPGRADED it to ALL WIRELESS. I’m told all companies are going all wireless. (our laptops used wifi).

Two new tiny wifi boxes (no ethernet jack) at my two tv’s send requests, receive everything from a Wireless Router in the basement about 40 ft away. (original wired router’s location).

it was taking 20 seconds just to change channels, or find something on the DVR, (often ’unable, troubleshooting, ..... just didn’t work).

1st they wanted me to pay for faster speed: 500/500 +20/mo or 1g/1g +40/mo (I have Fios 300/300 now); when I balked they wanted to rent me an ’Extender’, +$10/mo and use my existing ethernet cable from the main router to the extender.

I moved the main router with it’s coax attached dvr instead, now only 10 ft. away, everything is working.

I hard wired an 8 port ethernet switch from the new router location back to the original location to plug in my ethernet cables (new router has 3 ethernet out), so my office PC, LR Smart TV, AVR have ethernet connections.

Anything Verizon has to be Wireless as the tv boxes are wireless only.

Streaming, via my Smart TV is ethernet, thus I can compare Netflix/Amazon Prime/YouTube same content either Wireless via Verizon Wireless or Sony Smart TV Ethernet.

The source is the same, whatever Verizon sends down their FIOS line to their box in my basement.

Note: IF you change your service, select a best location for the new wireless router, or plan on using extenders initially, because they will charge to come back and move it which is why I did it myself. I had no idea they were changing me to wireless.
