Yellow Brick Road Vinyl Reissues Issues

I have an older audiophile DJM reissue. I believe it still may be in print. Maybe it is the Speakers Corner one, if it was released some time ago. Like I said, it is an older reissue. The sound is very good, but not audiophile material for sure. Haven't heard the new Universal pressing, so I can't be of much help there.

What was wrong with the original pressing? It sounds great on my system. I like the idea of the whole Elton John Band with Ken Scott and everyone there going over the final mix. I usually don't like remastered stuff, and once it's been digitized, you might as well just toss it in the garbage.

Take care of you nice original pressing, and it will last a lifetime.

That album always sounded great, the original copy...

Good chance this period press record club release will sound quite good, at minimum better than those reissues. I never had any luck with reissues of classics.

They always have a degree tonality that my ears don't like. Maybe it's because the original "sound" from 50 years ago is burned in my brain?

THIS DJM press for some reason lists as the most desireable press

A quick check of mine, reveals no such luck, good press nevertheless. I have the DJM 1001 not the 29001.

My favorite side has to be no.3. No shortage of dynamic, great sounding music.

Dirty little Girl and All the Girls love Alice are great tracks for dialing your speakers/subs for bass.

 

Agon needs to tune up there latest enhancement. Posting is still buggy.
