Tube gear under $2k?

Ok, when I bought my speakers, I auditioned them with various gear, but my favorite was the Manley Stingray. The problem is that I plan on also running my tv through my 2 channel system, so I really want a remote! At this price, I figure I need to go used to get a remote. Anyway, I'd like my system to be fast & detailed, with tight, quick bass and with some slam. I listen to jazz, metal, trip-hop, classic rock, folk, electronic... pretty much everything. I know I have a lot of demands and little money (relatively) to spend on them, but what can I do? Anyway, I need suggestions/opinions! HELP!!! Thanks in advance!

Man who wants "tubelike" feel when you can have the real thing !! I can knock my walls down with an 18watt 44 year old tube amp..Who needs 175watts.....kaboom
for the money you could get a vtl 150 integrated with remote. I have to agree with Tbrros to the extent that you may not attain your goals within your budget. nice highs and mids would be no problem for a $2k tube (or ss) setup; your jazz, folk, and some classic roak needs could easily be met with the 150. However good bass costs money and if you want killer trip hop and electronic thump 2k probably won't get it. Depending on your speakers and room. even if you have some high efficient speakers like Klipsh cornwalls, what you get in deep bass (especially if you stuff em near a corner) will show up as a deficeit in control and tightness. I get great bass out of my tube system but i have around 200 watts in tetrode driving a pair of dunlavy athenas (92 db).
oops, the integrated is the it85, the 150 is a stereo power amp that would require a pre....more money. All the comments remain valid though
Everything sounded great with the Stingray... even trip-hop & metal! By the way, as this is my first time venturing into tubes, I'd prefer something reliable and easy to work with (I might try a kit later... that sounds like fun).
For $2k you can get Quicksilver separates. Quickies have one of the most reliable and affordable tube gear. M60 the large ones with AE3 tube preamp will bring you to the heaven for near $1.5k
