Toggle switch cleaning?

I have a preamp with a toggle switch for changing phase. Sometimes I lose the left channel on switching. Is this something that can be cleaned at home, simply and safely? Or can this be worn out? Thanks. Pete

It might be dirty contacts. Give it a shot of canned air before you do anything else.
after the canned air, try operating the switch several times in succession if that does not work try contact cleaner and then do the same. if that doesn't work, take it to a tech.
I would use some DEOXIT electrical contact spray. Its easy to buy a can and clean the switch yourself. Regards,

Matt
The cleaners I use for the volume controls and switches in my vintage Accuphase gear are:

MG Chemicals 409B-340G Electrosolve Zero Residue Contact Cleaner - 12 Oz

MG Chemicals 404B-340G Contact Cleaner with Lubrication Silicones - 340 Grams

If Deoxit is readily available to you go for that as well.
