For the LP/Vinyl folks; look for the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields Chamber Ensemble; Phillips LP# 9500 616; There is a CD reissue also of this recording; Phillips CD# 420 400-2

There is also an "I Musici" LP from 1966 which is excellent.

I agree the Telarc Cleveland/Meliora CD recording is very good.

Another decent choice on Sony is "Musician's from Marlboro" Sony Classical CD# SMK 46251

I do like the performances of I Musici and Academy of St. Martin in the Fields Chamber Ensemble. Also what listed below are the other two recordings I collected for your reference:

1. Bartok Quartet (released by Hungaroton, energetic and
neutral)
2. I Solisti Italiani (released by Denon, subtle and
refine)

However, I have difficulty to appreciate the Telarc recording by the Cleveland and Meliora Quartets. It is very hard for me to describe that feeling in English. For those of you appreciate this recording, please provide more detail(s) to help me understand their performance more.

Thanks!
i picked up the hausmusic london disc produced in 1990.it is very good.has 2 string quintets and 1 quartet also.gramophone gave this disc a very favorable review.it's on the virgin/veritas label and can be had for less than $15.00
I just listened to the Cleveland Qt on Telarc for the first time in years. I retract my recommendation. I think it is too aggressive. However, you would like it if you like Solti at his most aggressive.
