Diana Krall's New CD "Live in Paris"????

Has anyone heard the new Krall CD (NOT DVD) "Live in Paris", and what are your thoughts?

Compared to the sonic air bushed sound of her studio recordings this is not a bad effort.

The Concord Records boys- Hamilton & Clayton provide her with a good foundation to entertain her Paris fans.
Last night, I listened to some DK and to Christine Tobin. I recommended Tobin in an earlier post and must confirm that she is head and shoulders above DK.

Not only is her singing more authentic (I mean, she sounds like she's "lived the life"), but her interpretation and songwriting skills are incredible. She mixes in Mingus, Leonard Cohen (rearranged), Brazilian, some standards, and her own stuff.

My comparison:
DK = merlot; vodka martini
Tobin = whiskey

I particularly recommend Tobin's CD "Deep Song."
Cpdunn99- I was all set to give Tobin a listen until you
said she mixes Cohen...the most boring singer/songwriter on
the planet. I guess if you drink whiskey anything sounds good.

Guess I'll have another cup of kava and put on Alison Krauss's new live CD.

Aloha.
Kana...

Tobin's newest CD has one Cohen song on it. If you don't like it, then you can program out that one track. Don't decide not to listen on the basis of one song!

And what was with the whiskey insult? I drink good wine, good coffee, good Port, good sherry, good water, good whiskey (not as much as the others, though).
