3-Meter vs. 10-Foot Long Speaker Cables

I know that this probably sounds like a silly, if not a stupid, question....

But I am currently using 2 separate pairs (Audioquest Caldera) of 3-meter long speaker cables in a bi-wire setup from amp to speakers. I am thinking of upgading one pair for the mid/high drivers to Audioquest Kilimanjaro or Everst. However, all I can find on Audiogon are cables that are 10 feet long....

So, would it cause any sonic problem if I were to use a 10-foot speaker cable pair for the mid/high drivers and a 3-meter pair for the bass? Three meter is 9 feet 10 inches, so it is 2 inches shorter than 10 feet.

Thanks for the help!

If you are going to mix and match copper and silver wires for the bass/mids & highs- that may present a sonic blending problem.
That would definetely overshadow a 2" length difference.

Thanks guys for your responses - you guys are great!!! And thank you for straightening me out....

I'm finally starting the realize the silliness (and perhaps idiocy)of being an audiophile.... I sometimes wonder whether I will get to a point where I will start to hear things that are just not there.....and think what a HUGE difference in sound those new cables made.....

We are truly a sick bunch of people...are we not?.....

Cheerios!!
