Von Schweikert VR4SR Loudspeaker

I m in the process of buying the ebony VR4SR which retail for 10K. Will be driving it with a Unison Research S8, SET with 24watts. How is the speaker? Is my integrated amplifier good enough to drive it? I m using Transparent Reference Speaker cable, power cord and interconnect. Accessories include BDR cones , Exact Power Conditioner and Transparent PIXL. Happy Listening.

I'd have to say a more powerful amp is going to be needed if you want much volume and dynamic capability at all. With only 24 set watts for those you should at least get a SS bass amp and maybe bi amp them.

You should also think about the VSA DB99 which would match with your amp better.

I would second the DB99. I think it is one of the better speakers out there, period - and very efficient for tubes or lower powered solid state, but tubes are a dream with them. At least listen before choosing something else if you can.

TQ for all your responses. Fr where I come from (Malaysia) I got no chance to audition the DB99 speaker.I suppose I need to change my amplifier if i want to buy VR4Sr. Happy listening
