LEGACY FANS ?

WHATS THE BEST AMP FOR THE FOCUS PRE 20/20 FOCUS THAT IS . I LISTEN TO ALL TYPES OF MUSIC FROM CLASSIC TO COUNTRY. MY PARASOUND A23 IS TO WEAK AND I THINK MY B&k SONATAS ARE JUST TO OLD. I'M THINKING KRELL, MAC OR PARASNDS JC1 MONOS ...HELP!

McCormack DNA-500. Period. Perfect match. You will be amazed. Save a lot of time and just find one.
Why have an entire site of info when you can just take Fplanner2000's advice? Seriously dont listen to anyone, listen with your ears and demo some amps if possible.
Exactly - when he hears it, he will be amazed. You obviously haven't heard one with Legacy speakers.

It can be quite maddening to try to find the perfect match as everyone's taste and ears are different. I have recommended this amp before to people with Legacy speakers and those that actually listened to the amp in their system ended up buying it and subsequently thanking me. I have no connection whatsoever with McCormack - just read some reviews - they are true.
I have spent quite a bit of time using different amps with the Legacy Focus HD speakers. I have used, Dussun V8i, Monarchy SM-70 Pro, Eastern Electric M-520, Jeff Rowland 501 monos, as well as Melody, McIntosh, and Pathos amplification.

One of my favorites is the twin Pathos Classic One MkIII integrateds in mono config. The Jeff Rowland monos with proper preamp are less warm but have impressive power and sound stage. If you are not out to drive the speakers to broadcast/"live" levels, then the Monarchy are wonderful, rich sounding economical amps. You will, however, get much better transients with a more powerful amp.

The best sound I have ever achieved for the Focus HD is with an amp(s) I am currently reviewing, so I will not disclose them yet. The review will not be out for several months, as they are just arrived. They are by far the most powerful, clean sounding I have used. Legacy speakers are thrilling when driven by big power.
