Krell technical support

Not really of this category but I wanted to share my incredible support experience from Krell regarding a software upgrade to a Foundation processor. No problem getting my call taken and immediate action taken to fix my issue. Overnighted the software fix at no charge. FYI I also have one of their Chorus amps. IMO a great sounding amp with whisper quiet fans and a proprietary system to allow full class A operation as needed as opposed to full time. Regardless I compared it to a Pass 250.8 and found them to have similar sound characteristics. These Krell amps sound great and can be had on AGON at favorable prices. Finally in person they look good. I have zero motive here except to pass on a great customer service experience and plug the amps a bit as I'm not sure they've been properly represented here.

Most of the time when it comes to support an obsolete products there's a chance of issue. New or current is fine by almost any manufacturer.
I believe Bryston is the most solid one for that matter.

FWIW, I had a Krell CD-DSP that I really liked. I stored it for a few years and it refused to play from the analog outlets after I retrieved it. Although it did work via the digital output, I decided to have it repaired by Krell. I called them and they told me that there wasn't anyone at Krell who had experience with that player so they couldn't help me. I give them credit for their honesty, but that didn't get my CD-DSP repaired.
Tonykay,
You're just another example how things changed from quality towards strictly business.
Older models had circuit diagrams and new ones have it as top secret. Whatever previous designer built and not anymore around won't get serviced, because no trace would exist and buried to the ground.
Industry of honest build quality of high definition audio ended in early 80's. These units can get repaired at any time from now till long future as long as discreet transistors are still manufactured.
