Speakers to hang on to for LIFE

After 9 years with my Proac Response 3s, I recently decided to change speakers. As you can tell, I'm not an upgrade fever patient. I want something I can live with for years & I think the best advice I'm gonna get will be from those who have & are still living with their speakers for an extended period of time. Please tell me why too. Thanks.Bob.

After many auditions it's looking like my first good pair of speakers, EgglestonWorks Fontaines, are staying. Just cannot dethrone them.
Hi for me it's Acoustat's have been with them since the early 80s Spectra 22s - Spectra 33s - 2+2s - and three pairs of my favorite the 1+1s i now own a pair that are very highly modified by my friend Jocelyn he REVIVES the OLD to a standard that puts to shame speakers that cost three times the price.
For the past 15 years my Mirage M3si's have brought a smile to my face. They don't sound like speakers; they sound like music.
