Personal speaker evolution

OK, so here is a thread I haven't ever seen here: What speakers have you owned? starting with the earliest, price paid, new/used, and perhaps the models that really impressed you (for the price) in CAPS.

Rat Shack Something or others, $120, new
Fisher Something or others, $280, new
ADS L710's, $550, new
Snell A2i's, $1100, used
BEVERIDGE SYSTEM 3'S, $1000, used
Martin Logan CLS, $1400, used
MARTIN LOGAN SL3'S, $2300, used

mm, the answer to that question covers several years :>)

Main System:
Longines Symphony Transistor Radio w/ single earphone
Mom's Sylvania Fold Up Turntable/AM/FM System w/ crappy speakers.
Radio Shack 3-Way speaker with DIY acoustic reflex enclosure
AR 2ax speakers - these lasted through college w/ several blown tweeters replaced
Vandersteen 1B
Vandersteen 2Ci
Vandersteen 2CE Signature

PC System:
Crappy PC Speakers
Less Crappy PC Speakers
Mackie HR824 Mk I powered monitors
Polk Monitor 10 Series 2
Remember many of the RS speakers....never understood the hype with many of them, but there was one that I was amazed by for the cost. Cant' remember which one it was, but we put them on over 10k worth of electronics and that was back then.
AR 2a
AR 3a
Dynaco
Polk Audio SDA2
B&W 802
Verity Parsifal
Wilson Alexia

A span of 48 years.... I’m done.
compare the Verity's to the Wilsons? I got the impression that they were totally different types of sound. Interesting movement.
Your right, they are different. Its truly an unfair comparison given the price difference as I think Alexia is better in every way. One big difference was I changed from a medium size listening room to a vary large room. The Verity could not play loud or have any presence in the larger venue. The 3D imaging on the Wilson is also amazing.
