Don't You Just Love It When...

Bands name other bands in their songs?

Two of my favs are "Kick out the Style, bring back the Jam" and "turn up the Eagles the neighbors are listening".  I wonder what the named band thinks when they hear the shout out?

Bad Company referenced the Beatles song "Love me do" in the song "Shooting star".
That is my all-time favorite Bad Company song, and yes, they say "Love Me Do I Think It Was".    That BC song, its so powerful.  Thanks for the reminder.
" I was thinkin' 'bout Alicia Keys, couldn't keep from crying
When she was born in Hell's Kitchen, I was living down the line
I'm wondering where in the world Alicia Keys could be
I been looking for her even clear through Tennessee"
I've read that Tom Waits would do a medley of "Christmas Card From A Hooker In Minneapolis" and "Going Out Of My Head".   Which is nice since the first song has the line "and I still have that record of Little Anthony and the Imperials, but someone stole my record player".

In his quasi-Tom Waits mode, Robbie Robertson is "Somewhere Down the Crazy River" in the back seat of a '59 Chevy listening to Little Willie John.
repeluso, " "I’m listening to Neil Young, I gotta turn up the sound
Someone’s always yelling turn it down."

Bob Dylan / Great song
