If this helps, the speed of sound in concrete is about 10 times the speed of sound in air.

They don't let people in the car during these "competitions", but if it is loud to you at the stop light in the next car over, it is incredibly intense inside the car with the loud stereo.

I am going to do an experiment. My son has a sub woofer in his trunk. I am going to take it out and put it on the grass, turn it up and see what happens.

He will be pissed ....because you will have along with taking out his sub 1) torn out the sub amp under the front seat, 2) the radio in his dash leaving a big hole and 3) the battery out of his car, to power the whole thing.
