Who has Luv for the Lyngdorf 2170 and is thinking about the 3400.

I’ve tried 3 different speakers with 2170, all in the same room (4th pair testing tomorrow). I’ve been doing between 4-7 mic placements to get 100% room knowledge, and 9%-18% room correction.

I completely agree to set up your speakers to the best of your ability before running RP. Less the 2170 has to correct the better, IMHO.

I did try placing all speakers that i’ve used very close to the back wall, and noticed that’s when I get in the higher room correction %. So now I’ve been giving each speaker at least 2 feet of room from the rear wall, and a little more if they’re rear ported.

I don’t believe there’s an absolute correct way, but I do know that it’s awfully fun having different options/results.

Most importantly, don’t forget to enjoy the 2170 & the music!

I was using the suggested 15 for volume on the RP setup. Yes it was damn loud. 

Kenny, did I get you name wrong somewhere? If so, sorry... Also didn't know you sold the Sonictransporter. You are certainly hard to keep up with! LOL
grannyring, I had no idea you were also using the iFI3.0. Maybe I'm not crazy. I am using the same SOtM txUSBexp card you are too, apparently. I'm actually powering my USBexp with an iFI wall wart. And I agree. The PS upgrade, even to just the iFI, did make a significant difference. More than the batteries I experimented with. I am waiting for HDPlex to release it's new LPS. I'll power the PC and then directly connect the USBexp external power to it.
As far as cables, I would love to give yours home-grown an audition when you're ready. Drop me an email with details when you can, please.

I may also want to talk to you about a motherboard modification to use one of SOtMs clocks to interface between the USBexp and the MB. I know you're really good at such projects. I will tell you even a modest LPS from Teradak is a must on your usb card and Ifi Micro. The difference is not small, it is rather substantial. I compared to the Ifi power supply and it was not close. Teradak LPSs can be purchased for $120-$150. The sound is so much more relaxed, less glare and smooooth! 

Looks like their web site is incomprehensible as far as purchasing/pricing. Seems they have everything is on EBay though. What unit are you using for the iFI and the txUSBexp? Also, are you using one their PC Power supplies on your server? $120 - $150 and you love it... I'm in! That's pocket change around the HT lately.
