Loudspeaker for second system

Looking around for a loudspeaker retailing for $1000.00 per pair and came upon the ELAC UF-5 which
retail for the $1000.00, designed by Andrew Jones and are looking to audition them. 'Does anybody heard these speakers or have any knowledge with regard to them or are there any other speakers in this price range that
you can recommend.  The reviews on this 3 way 3 foot high tower sound incredible.
Thank you.

Sorry, have not heard the Elacs, but I agree the reviews are positive.

You will have quite a few speakers to choose from in the $1000 range- especially if you are open to buying used.

If possible, audition several to get a handle on your preferences. I enjoy a lively speaker, but I’m sure others would consider my choices to be fatiguing... different strokes.

Hope this helps.

Kind Regards-

I have a pair of the bookshelf versions, the UB5s, that I use for my computer speakers.  Overall I enjoy them, the coaxial drivers are great for imaging, even extremely nearfield, and though I have mine paired with a subwoofer when I originally auditioned them they were being run full-range and I thought they put out a surprising amount of bass for such a small speaker, the towers should be even better in that regard.
Before I opened your post I was already thinking "ELAC". All the reviews I have read have been positive. I haven't heard them, but do own the Pioneer 22s for another system in the house that sound amazing for their price of $130/pair. Andrew Jones was the engineer for those. I have no doubt the ELACs sound every bit as good as the reviewers say they do.
