Tube Phono Preamp


I have a low end 7.2 system a Sony STR 770 AV Receiver..Sony 5 disc cd player..Audio Technica LP60 Turntable..my speakers are Pioneer FS52..BS22..HF21..C10..2subwoofers Polk Audio 10..KLH...Pyle PP 999 Preamp. If i change my preamp to a tube amp will it make a different?

Different, yes. Not totally sure it will be much improved however. Which source do you use the most? If you want to play more records, start with improving the turntable to something like the Rega or Project or Pioneer PLX1000. Then upgrade your preamp to one with a good tube phono stage. The CD player will probably suffice for the moment. If you want to persue the 2 channel hifi route, I'd be inclined to say sell all your speakers and research getting a good single pair.
