FR 64s tone arm lift servicing

Does anyone know how to get into the tone arm lifter to service it?
Mine just drops. There is a black plastic like press fit slug on the bottom of the cylinder but no obvious way of removing it without destroying in my estimation.

Any help is appreciated- it likely needs oil/grease

I'll take a close look at mine and let you know if I can see how to fix it. Is yours leaking any fluids?

No leaks I've read that it takes a more viscous material- even grease

I own FR-64 kinds since the 80is. Some of them have had this

problem . I ''dissected'' the whole lift ,cleaned the inside tube

and put the whole together. Not easy but it can be done. No ''fluid

problem'' and, besides, there is no way to add ''grease'' or

''fluid'' of any kind.
