Tekton Double Impacts

Anybody out there heard these??

I have dedicated audio room 14.5x20.5x9 ft.  Currently have Marantz Reference CD/Intergrated paired to Magnepan 1.7's with REL T-7 subs.  For the vast majority of music I love this system.  The only nit pick is that it is lacking/limited in covering say below 35 hz or so.  For the first time actually buzzed the panel with an organ sacd. Bummer.  Thought of upgrading subs to rythmicks but then I will need to high pass the 1.7's.  Really don't want to deal with that approach.

Enter the Double Impacts.  Many interesting things here.  Would certainly have a different set of strengths here.  Dynamics, claimed bottom octave coverage in one package, suspect a good match to current electronics.

I've read all the threads here so we do not need to rehash that.  Just wondering if others out there have FIRST HAND experience with these or other Tekton speakers

Thanks.

Great discussion going...

The DI Be's don't exist. If and when it becomes possible I'll post about it being underway.

I think both versions of the Ulf's have some great attributes to them. They are similar in many ways and somewhat different when evaluated in the realm of the very subtle - turn on the spidey senses.

Jon now has his Encore's (mini Ulf's) SN. 1 &2 and I thought they sounded pretty special prior to boxing them up.

Please allow me to take one minute and change the topic to the new Stereophile Tekton Design Impact Monitor review; the first review of the patented array to include electro-acoustical measurements.

After enduring over 2 years worth of slanderous attacks surrounding the validity of this patented array, and enduring 100’s of comments like: "it doesn’t work", "Eric’s a buffoon", ’his design has serious comb-filtering issues", etc... we get, as near as I can tell, John Atkinson measuring the Tekton Design Impact Monitor, and producing the best ’horizontal averaged frequency response’ in the history of Stereophile. This is the bookshelf/stand mount loudspeaker category. I've gone through years of Stereophile reviews and have not seen a better averaged polar.

Using a bit of Herb’s vocabulary from the review... it might be time for a few people to kindly "put a sock in it".

With this said... I am sending out a giant thank you to all of the awesome and wonderful clients that have discerned we’re doing something special at Tekton Design.

Respectfully and sincerely,

Eric Alexander - audio designer
Congratulations Eric, it must feel good to put the whole measurement issue to bed.
