Can do tattoedtracman,
Yep purchased a Rega saturn R, followed later by an isis, which I still have.
The saturnR replaced Cambridge azure 640c.
Musically the SaturnR and Isis are similar. The Isis has a radically different sound stage with respect to depth and location of notes played on various instruments.
When I first purchased the Saturn R it wore me out (in the best way) with the scale of musical information and tonal presentation. What it lacked for me was the stage depth, tending more to string instruments like a pair of phones.
I couldn't fault the timbre, detail or musicality, everything was there except for a holographic desire I had.
Okay let's step forward further. Having heard the Isis earlier, around the time of my SaturnR purchase I sorted the finances and purchased the Isis.
The sum is way more than the parts and it is not a situation of diminishing returns for the money spent, no way!
The musicality/music is all I think/ feel about. I don't concern myself with comparisons, wanting more. That said it is very hard to break the habit of greener grass, I love looking and listening to different components.
The Isis is what it is, a reference component, offering longevity and delicious music. If you like it loud, being a Krell man, you will be shocked if you pump it up.
