I heard one at Cap AudioFest and was unimpressed. Last time I was at Deja Vu Audio they had one there a customer had brought in, said they didn't think it sounded very good either.
There is a lot going on from the cartridge to the speakers. Agree that an audition on your own system makes the most sense. You could buy a Palmer but if all that follows is poor quality, so will the end result. If it meets your ear test... buy it!
