Michell motor is noisy:what to do?

Hi
The stand alone motor on my Michell Gyro is kinda noisy.
It is not electrical hum but rather a lisping sound coming from a rotating wheel.Once i heard it i can identify it from 2,5m (my sitting position). How to eliminate it?

I wonder if the quality control has gone down at Michell. My Gyro motor was perfectly quite, but couple years later after I had "downsized" and bought a new Techo, I had problems w/ the motor as well. I had the same problem as Restock and was able to fix myself w/ some advice from here and the dealer. Good luck,

Hi,
Just got, believe me or not, Michel answer. Going' to follow this manual and then return back.
Copypaste from my mailbox:

Good Morning Mikhail,

Thanks for your e.mail.

To start, you can place a small amount of oil onto the motor spindle but it needs to be applied from the bottom of the motor. Remove the cap screw from the motor top plate, lift the motor, you will need to push the motor lead back into the motor tube to create some slack and then apply a few drops of light oil to the underside of the motor.

Regards

Steve Rowland.

Gyrodec mk1 mk2 mk3 .... sometimes the small ceramic capacitor under the green off / on switch goes out of tolerance and makes the motor more noisy.

Replace the capacitor and the motor becomes silent
