A Very Strange Cover Song

There have been threads for "better than original" cover songs and threads for horrible cover songs. This cover song doesn't really fit into those categories or anywhere in between. It just makes no common sense why it was actually done, unless we go further with what Lawrence Welk calls the song at the end. Maybe he had more than bubbles behind the orchestra.

Any others that might be a fit for the strange category?

Money was actually a song from Talma ( Motown) written by Berry Gordy and Janie Bradford recorded by Barrett Strong that the Beatles, Kingsmen and many othet covered.
@johnto, excellent point! The first version of "Money (That’s What I Want)" I heard was The Kingsmen’s (an early-60’s Northwest Frat band), and my first band played it in their style. Barrett Strong’s version (the original) is KILLER! The Beatles version is good, but Barrett’s smokes it, imo. The Flying Lizard version is fun.
A couple come to mind:

Flaming Lips / Dark Side Of The Moon

French, Frith, Kaiser, Thompson / Surfin USA
I actually like that one better that the original (Sorry bdp24)
Do Right Woman, Do Right Man......by the Flying Burrito Brothers. And at least 21 (!) other artists.
