I ended up with the non CT VLR's and am extremely happy with my choice.
I was using a pair of Zu Omen Bookshelf before. The difference is amazing.
The VLR's are paired with a pair of HSU subs (I forget the model).
I was going to use my old 2w subs, but my recently upgraded McCormack Micro Power Drives(made into monoblocks) gave me issues with impedance settings. So, I reinserted the HSU. I have to say the match is a good one. Well, good enough for my office-

i decided to keep mine as well instead of getting a newer pair CT VLR`s. they sound fantastic and work well were i have them.
I can't wait to hear the CT's. I wonder how much of a difference there will be.  I"m sure it will be huge, but we are lucky as he makes such great speakers that even other models sound great still and ar ea value.  I've gone to listen to a lot of under 2k speakers lately and have been disappointed a bit.
I asked Johnny and he said since they weren't for critical listening, it wouldn't be worth the expense.-Especially as they are mounted near the ceiling, and I am listening almost underneath them.
I have to say they are very listenable, and still present a nice stage despite my poor placement/seatiing,

good info to know Bob, thanks for sharing.  I wish he had a powered version as that's what I'm thinking about doing for my bedroom system. I have my Linn Kiko system up for sale, but I'm not sure I should sell it as it really does do everhtign from switching the video to streaming via it's app. Looks awesome adn sound pretty good.
