Oppo 83 SE wich would be best for my system vs 83

Hi

I would like to know if anyone can share with me, if the SE will be a noticable differece, or marginal over the 83.

I have a Arcam 300 reciever, BDP400 Mirage Sub, Allisons fronts , center and rear speakers. Above average. I'm using the Cambriddge -Azur 540D DVD player, actually very good picture and sound is good, not excellent.( playes NTS & Pal)

I don't need to play SACD or CD, just DVD.
and I want to use the Audio outs to the Arcam.

Question: Will I really notice the Audio sound worth spending the extra $400 or so over the 83R?

I actually not trying to save the $400, just want to know if this makes quality audio sence?

Thanks

Yes, it would be better for you. Also, resale when the 'next big thing' comes along will be at least $200 higher. Another factor will be the audio side when the many Blu-Ray audio stuff starts to be issued this year. BRA will initially be limited to classic disc's like Miles Blue, but many others will follow.
With any decent quality system, the answer is simple. If you are using the analog outputs of the player (as the OP seems to be), get the SE for the improved DACs. If you are using the HDMI or coax/optical output, save your money and get the 83.

Do the analog outputs of any source device give the best audio/picture quality?

I had always thought that HDMI will output the highest bandwidth and quality of signal?!
First, I was speaking only about audio quality. Video quality is identical in the two players.

Second, HDMI will be superior for a digital display, such as with modern flat panel devices.
