Give the kid a break. Buy a tube of Total Contact, then paste the connections and let the music from that system really come through.  You'll have enough left over to paste your main system as well. After you've completed the job, then come back here and tell us again how its all "snake oil."

Question regarding the paste. Clean off and reapply ever so often or not mess with it. I sold a piece of gear and he said my rca inputs were filthy 😉
