New speakers from Martin Logan, Ethos $6495

I was just looking around at speakers and saw the new Ethos on Martin Logan's site. I have not heard anything about them but they seem very similar to the spire but use a smaller 8" woofer and an 8" passive radiator.
The panel is smaller and only 9.2 inches wide compared to the Spire's 11.3" panel.

It seems like an odd price point/model for them. I would think it would eat into the Spire sales. But I guess it could sound a lot better than the Vantage which always seemed to have bass issues to my ears (port noise/boom).

Anyway here is a link, they look very nice.

Did you read this:
An immensely dynamic 8-inch PoweredForce™ woofer and 8-inch passive radiator duo utilize an innovative 24-bit Vojtko DSP (digital signal processing) Engine
Do you know what DSP means? It stands for "Digital Signal Processing" and in the case of the Ethos, it means that all your signal under 375Hz (the crossover point) has been converted to digital first and then back into analog. Do you want all your bass, and lower mid-range digitized? Do you want a speaker whose low frequency driver is being forced to act in "unatural ways" to overcome flaws and inadequacies in the basic design?

I'd say stay away!! You can be sure if the former "Great American Speaker Company" (now moved to Canada) continues to populate their line with "cop-out designs" they will lose their hi-end cred real fast!
I remember when $3400 would but Requests new. ML has been less bang for the buck since then IMO
I certainly don't want my woofer to act in "unnatutal ways". That's a job for my tweeter. ;-)
