Miracles in Audio, by luck, by good choices,by design or by tweaking...

I owned a low cost headphone for many years, the Fostex TH7B, first version( a new one close version exist Fostex TH7BK), semi-open headphone...I was never completely satisfied by any headphones I ever owned: Hifiman 400, Stax basic lamda, Stax 5 gold,Akg 340,Akg 701, beyerdynamic 990, and T150... Because in each of them with all their qualities I never listen to at the same times, a confortable headphone with natural timbre and voicing, with a good imaging and a realistic soundstage(not too close to my ears)...


For the last days I tweaked this Fostex, to damp his internal resonance I used sorbothane, I put some shungite stones at the exterior part of the cups and I use some Herkimer diamond in the interior pads( 3 at 120 degree) … Now this low cost headphones crush all my others if I sum all his qualities... For example his mids and voicing cannot beat the AKG 340 but among all my other headphones it is the best that is near that mids and it is more confortable, and with longer cable than the 340...His imaging is better and more realistic than the 340 etc etc...It is the same if I compare with the others...


His most important qualities is natural timbre and clear imaging,very precise pinned point accuracy and natural, so clear it crush for that ALL the others to dust...In the French audio circle the reviews were more than very positive few years ago...Diapason d’or and choc Classica...I am not the only one impressed buy the ratio quality/price... But remember that thesae reviewers dont tweak their headphone...The difference between before and after the tweaks are staggering...


Yes Miracles happens in Audio: cost is under 100 American dollars... Few years ago they cost me 50 bucks new... I never dreamed that I will go back to headphones...

Like Shungite the use of lava beads in audio is delicate operation... They can easily degrade the sound near some gear...But on the central electrical panel of my house with the shungite they works miracles...
I would never have considered such a change after all that happened in the last month in my audio system, in the speakers or headphone alike...

The lava beads(4mm) taped on the panel has transformed the sound at another level...The effect is so greatly audible that it is comparable to an upgrade of strong impact...The clarity is now off the old chart, in my headphone or in my speakers...I am happy... I will be more happy if someone benefit from my experiments...My best to all...

I will add my audio miracle. I use a damping material I bought from Marcof Electronics many years ago. I was told it was made from a mixture of butyl rubber and crushed limestone. It’s still soft after decades. I use it for all types of damping. But applied to the back of horns and their drivers, the results are amazing. That edge people don’t like about horns is completely gone. The problem is I’m almost out. I’m trying to get Ed Martin to dig up the cases of it he thinks are stashed away.

Mahgister, what type of electronics are your shungite pyramids sitting on?
Meant to ask you earlier but I was enjoying being a pain on another thread...

The pyramids are sitting , elevated and not directly on them, on top on the embedded printed horizontal antennas of 2 of the Shuman resonators...On the other 2 the shungite is under them...The S.G. is like an apparatus that transmit the power of the stones, and the cabling between S.G. and the other stones, all connected in a grid,are very powerful, way more than without cables, and without S.G. It is audible in headphone and speakers alike, in nearfield listening or normal listening...

Shungite act the best and positively in synergy with other stones mainly on : power supply, wall wart, conditioner, electrical panel of the room and of the house, router, computer...I dont put it on dac,or amplifier, I try on headphone with mixed results also,because it can degrade the sound...But on the different list I just described the effect is amazing and good for me... But I use also other stones with it... It is like each stones compensate with one another their resulting filtering action on E.M. fields of the room and the house...On the Schuman generators shungite act very good but I use other stones to complement his power...If you want to try, it is simple, try with one of the element of the list I just give to you, and try all the place and keep it on the best for you...


I have ordered a fifth Schuman generator, I was amazed by the use I discovered for them with stones and cable...It cost me 10 bucks from China(a usb one) I will modify it with stones and connect it on my grid... I am sure that this will be even better than now...
