Considering Harbeth C 7ES-3

I am considering purchasing Harbeth C 7ES-3s. Have PSAudio Stellar amp and preamp. I would appreciate thoughts on sound quality and character. I listen to everything except heavy metal/ thrash. Are there other speakers I should consider in their price range? @$4000.

I really enjoy whenever I hear the Harbeth 7s and personally, given they have rich bass for their size, I find they do both the "organic Harbeth" sound but are also "fun" for any type of music. Great speaker. Frankly I don’t know lots of speakers in the $4,000 range (as I did a major speaker search recently at higher prices), but if you like the Harbeth sound, no other speaker really sounds like them (except maybe Spendor).   And if you really like Harbeth, you may find they sound more "right" than speakers costing much more money.
Why are you looking at the Harbeth's?  You have to tell us why you are considering them and what you are looking for in a speaker.  There are plenty of other options I would look at before them unless you have actually heard them and are enamored by what they bring to the table.
I have not heard them yet and look forward to the opportunity. I like what I hear about an open, natural sound, especially for acoustic instruments,  and the resonance of the cabinet design. They also seem to come up in forums as recommendations quite often. Any one know where I can hear them near San Francisco?
Harbeth makes a great speaker and they obviously have a devoted following. Spendor is also highly regarded and make a similarly voiced speaker. However, the key to choosing any speaker is to listen, and preferably in your own room.
it looks you have powerfull amp,it can be too much for harbeths.Dynaudio speakers like powerfull amps. For $4000 you can get dynaudio platinum c1 with stands. If you won't like sound, dynaudio has good resale value.
