Hooking up my JL sub

Folks - I need a little help. Trying to figure out best possible way to connect my JL Audio F112 sub to my Marantz AV7005 processor/preamp.
Signal is coming from Benchmark DAC 1 - yes I know it’s a preamp and yes I love the sound directly from it - except that there is no remote volume control and I am lazy.
Passing signal to my Marantz in Pure Direct mode cuts the signal to the subwoofer. Can I use a RCA Y splitter and pass one signal to Marantz and the other to JL audio?

ghulamr,

A Y adapter has a RCA male on one end and 2 RCA females on the other. You plug the RCA male into the Preamp out and then use one of the RCA  females for the main amp and the other RCA for the sub. You would need 2 for both channels (R&L). Do a google search I'm sure you have seen them.

What you have inserted in your post would work but looks to be more for car stereo. You can buy high quality Y adapters that won't degrade the signal as much.

Probably the easiest and best way would be to use either an electronic crossover, or just simply use a y adapter.
Benchmark DAC 1 has both unbalanced and balanced outputs, the unbalanced rca output connect to Marantz AV7005, balanced xlr output connect to JL F112 sub xlr input directly or via a switcher, so no 'y' cable/adapter needed.

That will not work - if Marantz is the preamp the signal will generate from Marantz to the sub.
