This statement from Stereophile bench tests should give you an indication of what will be asked from the amp. And I would add the word "very" in front of comfortable. A combination of 5 ohms and –47° phase angle at 57Hz suggests that the Yvette will sound best with amplifiers that are comfortable driving 4 ohm loads.Cheers George |
owning yvette’s and using with a couple of high end ss amps i’m curious as to your desire for tubes. i tried an ARC Ref 75se, which is a great tube amp, and found it too soft on top and too warm/ripe in bass to be a great fit. regardless i find the speaker to be so musical and sweet on top that a neutral SS amp mates better for me. i prefer the resolution and detail of ss. ymmv |
