I had the same issue with speakers not being able to play everything. Even had B&W CM10s2’s which muddled mid-bass. Found a deal ‘Sonos Fabre Amati Futura’s’ and I’ve never looked back.

Not a big fan of Michael Jackson but Thriller and Bad albums are amazing records both on vinyl and digital. They will test your system in just about everything, high and low end, dynamic range, quiet and loud sections, bass. Quincy Jones did a great job on these albums. 

Test your cross over with IQ, Road of Bones album, first track intro. You'll hear when the crossover goes from midrange to sub. The lowest note is really down there.
