What other Hobbies or Interests Do You Have?

If I still had the Bob Jackson, I'd have it hanging on the wall in the family room. They are, after all, pieces of art. :-)

Ahhh....yes indeed, a work of art from the golden age of Brit frame building ( complete with the gorgeous stove enameling that was standard in that era ... a friend has a Bob Jackson tandem that has a paint job to die for...simple colours that look a mile deep... ) ....Very sorry to hear injuries got in the way of continued enjoyment of the Bob Jackson.

My Raleigh 753 riding is also sadly behind me....managed to break the frame....I have this weird ability to snap rear drive side drop-outs...It now hangs on the wall in our sun-room alongside a custom Harry Quinn 531, and an absolutely sublime Limongi SLX ( all put to rest because of the aforementioned drop-out issue ).

Do you remember the early Colnago bicycles with their elaborate lug work replicating the suits of cards? I loved those bikes. And talking about lug work, my Schwinn Paramount had beautifully sculptured chrome-plated lugs. I had just gotten the frame back from the factory with a new paint job when that idiot ran the stop sign and destroyed the bike. Bummer!

There were two elderly ladies at the Schwinn factory with over a combined 50 years of experience who were the only employees allowed to braze the Paramount frames. Their lug work was a genius work of art.

Just went to the Waterford site ( Waterford is where I believe the Paramount master builders all landed ) and looked at the 22-Series Artisan Stainless page.....and good gawd those frames are gorgeous and in large part to some awesome lug-work. The art thankfully lives on.

My brother and I race NHRA . Its been our downfall for the last 20 years . I say that because its addicting as heck. And it’s a worse money pit than this audiophile thing. We race NHRA Superstock class. I drive, and my brother is crew chief, transportation cheif, cook and head bottle washer... LOL.. Car runs 9.60’s on a good day. Engine must maintain all the stock parameters . Bore, Stroke , Valve Size, Compression Ratio. Carb/Throttle body must all remain stock dimensions. Blowers, Turbo's, Nitrous, or any power adders are prohibited unless that item came on that particular engine from the factory in OEM trim . Taking a car that made 240 hp originally,( 1990 350 cu. in. TPI Camaro Iroc) and transforming it to make 640 hp with these requirements is a monumental task. But it keeps ya thinking.... and broke. We race in the eastern US, and our season has already started in Gainsville Fla. We missed that race because our engine is still in Charlotte being updated ..
