I thought they cold welded the connections. I could be wrong but I think I saw it somewhere.
Audioquest Rocket 33, anyone knows how to take off the banana plug end?
Hello all! I have a 10ft audioquest rocket 33, the original banana plug is sorta darkish, i gotta a hold of Banana 500 series that i’d like to swap it with. I do not see any screws on the original banana plug, anyone knows how to remove that end in a safe way?
Also, will it be ok if i put gold banana 500 on the amp end, and silver banana 500 on the speaker end? Thanks

I have 33 and have changed from bananas to spades and it’s pretty simple. If you go to approx 3 minutes into this video you can see them being applied to Rocket 11, and it’s the same process. https://youtu.be/XuqXoNAnXLU Basically the two tiny allen screws closest to the banana are holding the wire (this is evidently what they refer to as “cold welding”) and then there are two opposing screws below that are simply grabbing the rubber/plastic legs of the jacket. Loosen them all and jut pull it off. Be careful not to lose the screws because they are tiny. |
