Does anyone have a Sony DVP-S9000ES that reads the SACE layer

I had two Sony DVP-9000ES players. I'll cut to the point. Once the laser started to go, the machines wouldn't play SACDs. I never found anything in the manual about how to correct the problem. I thought they were great sounding CD/SACD players when new.

I just tried to power up my 9000ES, initially got the red standby light, and now nothing. Has anyone tried to repair these with no power? I hate to send it to the landfill. If it is not worth repairing are there any parts I can recycle out if it? Taking the cover off now.

My advice would be to go ahead and send the Sony to the landfill if you need SACD and look for a used Oppo 105. You won't be disappointed. I know it will play SACD.

I saw a 99 FS on USAudioMart asking $400

If you get a 105, upgrade the PS and the IEC (ebay). Once you've done that, leave the cover off

Mine is really finicky about being on a flat surface with four footers, not three. Also, is it possible to convert the RCA digital output to USB?
Thinking of getting the Gustard 22, but its DSD is only supported by
USB.
