A Audio Alchemy DDP-1 (dac/pre)+ PS 5 outboard power supply is available on US Audiomart. I have owned this combo for several years. Terrific bargain. Great review in March 2016- I think. It allows you to eliminate a preamp

 I didn't see your budget mentioned I have ~ 30 SACDs. I bought a Oppo 105 maybe 10 years ago specifically for them. I also had a Pioneer PD 65 for redbook, but it died. I replaced it with a Marantz HD CD-1, which also eventually died but before ...

Several years back I had a slightly modified (new chips) Pioneer PD 65 (inverted player) the only out was optical which wasn't very good

The Shanling ET3 looks to be great value, but Im more inclined toward the SCD1.3, a player/transport that plays SACDs too $1279

@tyray Ive owned a CDT 6000 for 2+ years. Great value. Never an issue, unless the remote batteries were too low. I highly recommend it, especially when they often show up used for ~ $350. That said, the Shanling appears to be even better, but at 3...
