Obviously a well regarded component. Just wondering with the lack of a tape loop or fixed out, could anything be configured to allow recording of vinyl and occasionally cd to tape?
Guys, if you used the Freya as a passive, and turned the volume up full, there’s your tape loop, from input to output. You just can’t monitor that all, but I'm sure the reel to reel has a headphone output
George that would also work very well. Thanks for the replies. Sounds like I can make it work. I’m going to have a tough choice to make. Initially, I am going to bi amp Calibre XD's with my Rogue Cronus Magnum (which I love) and see how that works. I think it will sound great. The only thing is it wont be able to take advantage of the balanced inputs on the speakers.
I MAY consider selling the Rogue and get the Freya + to still get a great tube sound and take total advantage of the balanced inputs and have the powerful ICE amps running the speakers full range.
You can use a source selector and some Y adapter/cable to build your own Tape monitor/loop. On the source ( CD and phono stage ) output connect a pair of Y adapter/cable, one end go to
Freya+
input, another end go to source selector input, the source selector output connect to reel to reel input and the reel to reel output connect to one of the
Freya+
input. Since the $49 Schiit Sys has two input, it is a good contender for the job as a Tape monitor/loop selector!
