Connecting a DAC directly to an amp?

Do I need to insert a stereo preamp between a volume controlled dac (chord tt2) and an amp? Impact to sq?

If I am mistaken, forgive me. However , if you’re primary interest is video, or podcasts, do you really want to be spending major dollars on two channel equipment?

There should be no price tag to great when it comes to being successful in finding an extremely grate sounding preamp.
