Many high end class a preamps don’t have on/off on remotes, and some do (eg. Audio Research). If ARC does it, why can’t others do it? Why so difficult to install in a way that don’t hurt SQ?
There's really no point. Other things in the system have to be turned on too. The preamp has to be first. So no point in using a remote. If a preamp has it, its only because they could implement it, not because its actually practical.
The Schiit Freya + allows its tubes to turn off when utilizing either the passive or FET settings, both remote switchable...lower gain for those options but the tubes get some rest...there ya go!
