Your 98dB, 4-foot tall, 85 lb speakers with dual 8-inch and dual 5-inch drivers don’t produce enough bass? It might be because you’re pairing a 7W SET amp with a 4 ohm speaker. I’m not knocking the speakers - I just think the pairing is less than optimal. I believe Tekton makes a Perfect SET series of speakers that are designed for SET amps that combine a 10-inch driver with an 8ohm impedance design. Seems like that would be a much better fit instead of cobbling together a whole room full subwoofers scattered about to correct for the less-than-optimal pairing.
Experience using a subwoofer with Tekton speakers?
Hi all,
Just recently received a pair of Tekton Electron SEs. I'm still getting to know these speakers but so far very pleased with the sound. My only wish - and maybe a bit of break in will help - is for a bit more bass.
My question to the Audiogon community: has anyone had experience using a subwoofer with Tekton speakers, ideally Electrons (with 8" drivers), and if so, what would you recommend for a sub? Thinking about a REL t/9.
Also - I'm using a low-powered SET amp (7.6 watts) to power the Tektons. That may be a big part of the issue.
Thanks!
Josh
