cambridge 851N use without an internet connection

851N owners, can you use your 851N and connect /controll app (android) without having an internet connection?  specifically if you plugged in a USB hard drive?
even more specifically, i would ideally like to use a wireless router that is not connected to the internet.  plug the 851n into the lan port, or connect it via wifi, then use the phone app on that closed network and control whatever i have connected via usb - you know, see what songs are listed, play, queue up the next song.
thanks, i really appreciate any answers. i haven't yet purchased the 851n, but just exploring setup scenarios.

You don't need access to the internet to control the 851N with the Streammagic application.

I don't believe you would have any problems with the setup you describe.

well i know i will probably need to net it for updates and such. but even that worries me. but that’s me. audiophiles are not as freaky as IT security people, if you can call them people. but the worst part is, sheep willfully playing in the lions den saying "isn’t this great!"

i did order one today - best way to figure it out is to have it. looking forward to it as well as something else in the pipeline that i think is going to make me want to listen again.
