I run a Cambridge cdp as a transport into a bel canto dac the difference is huge . maybe consider using your cdp as transport and scoring a used dac this will give you a bing bang for the buck imo I run nu vista amp
What did you move on to dac or cdp from MF A5 CDP Previous Owners
Hello,
I’ve enjoyed my a5 cdp for a long time now and haven’t had much luck getting a dac that at least meets it in performance. I haven’t tried a lot though and would appreciate any input in previous owners that have moved on and enjoy what they have now. I assume if you’ve also enjoyed the a5/5.5 that it most likely brought you the same qualities I’ve liked. I have a bluesound vault 2i which i really like for convenience but it in no way equals the a5 in sound stage, voice, and high frequency clarity. I’m really looking for at least a dac and possibly a combo. I wonder if i should stick with what i know and get a newer MF DAC, or DAC/CDP combo. Any help would be appreciated.
