If you use a grounded sweep arm and a dust cover you will never have to clean them again. If the stylus collects something the brush can't get off the a solution of 25% 91% isopropyl alcohol in distilled water using the same brush will take it off. With modern styli that are glued to the end of the cantilever you do not want to do this more than once a month.
