Opinions on differing power cable for amp and preamp

Hello All,

Looking for your thoughts/advice/opinions. I currently have a Rotel RSP-1582 preamp and I am using a Transparent High Performance Power cable. My amp is a Simaudio Titan HT200 5 channel amp using a Shunyata Delta NR 20 amp power cord. Better to trade the Shunyata Delta for a Transparent Premium 20 amp power cord? Does that make more sense for synergy purposes or does it really not make a difference mixing different power cables from different manufacturers? I should also mention all my speaker cable and interconnects are Transparent Plus.

Thanks all in advance....

kingbr, my suggestion was about a used Super mm cord. The mm series was the third generation from Transparent. The Premium mm2 was from the fourth generation of product. The mm2 would be a step up compared to the mm series (often unofficially called mm1).The current Gen 5 Premium cord is a bit different from previous generations in that the cord ends are a different brand and are gold plated (at least it was so on the one that passed through my hands). I didn't keep that one. A Gen 5 Premium might be overshooting the target with your current preamp which, I am not familiar with. Perhaps a premium mm2 would be a good choice. Unfortunately, the market for used Transparent cords has been very dry lately. Besides ebay, Agon and Audio Mart, keep an eye on the following websites for Transparent product, Echo Audio, Sunny Audio Video and Paragon Sight and Sound.
Thank you @mwh777 ! Appreciate you following up and clarifying, and for the added detail. And I so know the market has been dry lately for Transparent cords, I've been hunting religiously, LOL! But I've only been hunting here and Ebay. I'll expand my search...Another great insight on overshooting on the preamp. I know Rotel isn't exactly high end, but back in the day I had the RMB1095 driving my Dynaudio Audience and even though I love my current setup (Evoke/Simaudio) there was just something truly magical about that system that I still miss :(. But I'm not sure this particular preamp would justify that kind of $ upgrade for the power cable.

Its kind of funny, some people seem to live in a strange beyond words universe where things like power cords know to sound different depending on what they are plugged into. Over here in my universe the power cord that sounds one way plugged into the amp sounds..... exact same when plugged into the phono stage, CDP, turntable..... what a surprise.

If you find one that sounds really good, beautiful balance, not too much or too little of any one thing, then guess what? More of them will be better. If you have one that is pretty good, especially with powerful bass but not so much top end extension then guess what? More of it will be too much of a "good thing". Which brand it is, the whole concept of "loom" is nothing more than jargon some guys like to throw around to impress other guys.

It works, more often than not, so they keep on doing it.
