I went through a fairly serious obsession with Fairport Convention and related music during the late 90s. That period of our history and much of the then new music in it was so bleak to me but the early FC music was something to focus on that was real and good. Maybe it was an imaginary nostalgic trip to a time and place I’d never really lived but wished I had. Anyway, enough to say it’s pretty clear why music of RT & associates continues to appeal.
