Greg I have his phono pre and it is very musical, tows the neutrality line tauntly. I have not heard his monoblocks, when are they possibly displacing? I plan to take Tim up on his evaluation offer at some point also ...
Jim, I've been running Rogue audio M180 monoblocks. The Herron M1s are pretty old, but they were upgraded to a FET front end a couple of years ago at the factory. I couldn't really find much information about them, but bought them primarily based on Keith's reputation and all the great things I've heard about the Herron phono stage. A little less power than the M180s (150 vs 180 watts), but they are super quiet, detailed, and dynamic, and run really cool, take up less space, and I will never have to buy 8 KT120s for them.
Tim, thank you for the offer, I appreciate it. I'm not really a "cable guy" and might not be the best person to evaluate your cables.
