@rcprince at the risk of talking about something you’re already well on top of...my feeling about video is that the sq out of a tv is never gonna be ideal but even a mid-fi compromised setup through a good stereo is better than tv or computer speakers or, heaven forbid a soundbar.... I recently caved and bought an inexpensive little DAC (chi-fi, $40) and ran optical to it through the wall from my TV and then ran rca from the little dac (3”x4”x1”) to the spare input on my pre-amp. Of course if your rig already has a good dac within reach of your TV just do that. Anyway, the sound we get is just ok, but there’s a pretty good soundstage and the music from the television has much more human emotion. The first night I hooked this up we spend hours watching cello solos, chamber and orchestral music on YouTube. Of course to save tube life in the system I limit use of this connection for worthwhile videos and movies.
@bkeske agree.  Have various certificates that come in the box with purchased vinyl from their own label.  Will try it out.
