USING AFTERMARKET PLATE AMP FOR SUBWOOFER

Hi good morning my name is Calvin.  I have a Velodyne HGS15BG in immaculate condition but it is missing the OEM PLATE AMPLIFIER.  The Velodyne series has a rated high gain servo amplifier of 1250rms 3000w peak.  I've been searching for the amplifier but have been unsuccessful.  Does anyone know of a distributor ship that may have the oem plate amp for the HGS-15BG??

OP, if the amp is a servo, it relied on feedback from a sensor on the driver to make near real time correction.  You may not get the same performance with a standard subwoofer amp regardless of the controls it has.

Now, this doesn't mean an aftermarket amp won't be good, but it's likely you won't get the performance out of the driver that you would with the  OEM amp.
Hey Vinylzone, this is clbrown55, I'm responding to your suggestion, yes that's what I was afraid of, the oem amp is servo driven so it does since driver excursion from the voice coil via a accelemeter so the amp can compensate and make real time corrections.  The Dayton amp want be able to do that.  If I purchase the Dayton I just have to be careful and not overdrive the sub
Calvin I assume you've checked with Velodyne and they won't sell you a replacement amp? If not you should try that.
