@slaw The Herron is fantastic.  More detail, a quieter background, more holographic.  I like that I can have both a MM and MC connected to it and switch from one to the other with the flick of a switch.  It's an upgrade from my Manley Chinook and Pass XP-15 and could potentially replace both, although I'm leaning towards keeping the XP-15.  There's a good chance that a Herron preamp will be the next addition to my system.

I think I’m liking these Brimar NOS. Mudlark is sounding great, perhaps the best it has ever sounded. Not sure why I was ignoring the au7’s, but shouldn’t have been.

Impatient. 😄 No, actually, I’ve become quickly fascinated with tubes. Interesting how you can take a piece of equipment and change it with just a tube selection, but the base piece of equipment is unchanged. I can see why folks, and tinkerers, become smitten with tubes.
