I am contemplating trying out some new cables. I noticed you can normally buy used cables for less than 50% of the mew cost. In the past I bought some lower level Nordhost. Hated them. Very detailed but VERY thin sounding with little bass. Also tried some Analysis Plus lower level cables. Same thing, thin sounding but better than the Nordhost. Currently and for years running cables I bought from Odyssey Audio that were around 150 bucks or so. I think I’m happy with them. They don’t seem to be obviously voiced in any way. So I do believe there is a difference, I am on the fence whether I believe there is much of a difference if it’s a good quality cable that’s not obviously had resistance (or whatever) messed with to be voiced in some way. Looking for something on the full side with good bass and extended but not harsh treble. Current equipment:
There’s a used 8’ pair of Acoustic Zen Hologram ll here for $650 or on US AudioMart for $575 and some Satori here as well. Any of those should be great for what you’re looking for, but if not there’s a liquid AZ used market so you can just turn around and sell’em. Best of luck.
Thanks I’ll look into those brands but I forgot to mention I need bi-wire. I haven’t seen Analysis Plus mentioned. I know I have some of their really cheap stuff but wondering about let’s say oval 9 cable. The descriptions I keep reading on the sound seems to fit well.
op - if you need biwire canare 4s11 is your ticket - neutral tonal balance with nice air and bass heft - if money is burning hole in pocket, upgrade something else in the system
